Takatori-Yaki.

In the beginning of the 17th century this family of Korean potters settled in the south island of Japan. Master Hassen Takatori (13th gen), Shinobu Takatori (14th gen) and Shuuichiro Takatori (15th gen) fire only 3 times a year using local volcanic clay and traditional firing and glazing techniques.

The Takatori family work relentlessly under one roof, to continue a 400 year old legacy, creating the most poetic and philosophical form of ceramic art. They have prospered into a clans kiln and are still actively producing high quality tea-wares available in store today.
