ABOUT TAKATORI In the 17th century the Takatori family of Korean potters settled on the Southern Island of Japan.
Since then, the Takatori family has prospered and is still actively producing high quality tea-wares using local volcanic clay and traditional firing and grazing techniques.
The 13th and 14th generation of this artisan family have produced the work you see here today. They work relentlessly under one roof, to continue this 400 year old legacy, creating the most poetic and philosophical form of ceramic art.
